It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charlotte Cox Allie, 74, of Bedford, Texas, who died peacefully on December 17, 2024 surrounded by family.
Charlotte was born on February 15, 1950 in Snyder, Texas to Joseph Arthur Cox, Jr. and Mary Houston Cox-Stahl. She was raised in Graford, Texas and attended Tarleton State University, earning two degrees in Education.
Charlotte dedicated her life to shaping young minds and creating nurturing environments for children to learn and grow. She began her career in the H-E-B School District as a Special Education teacher at Midway Park Elementary, where her passion for education and her ability to connect with her students made her a favorite among both children and parents. Her classroom was known for its warmth, creativity, and the genuine care she showed for every child’s success.
As her career flourished, Charlotte transitioned to the role of principal at Oakwood Terrace Elementary in the H-E-B School District, where she continued to leave an indelible mark on the community. With a combination of strong leadership and unwavering compassion, she transformed the school into a place where every student felt valued and inspired. Parents admired her ability to listen, solve problems, and advocate for their children, while the students adored her infectious enthusiasm, her open-door policy, and her ability to make each child feel seen and heard. She was named Elementary Principal of the Year in the district for the 2002-2003 school year.
Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, both in and out of the classroom, as a mentor, a role model, and a friend.
In 1981 she married Daniel Allie in Hurst, Texas. Charlotte and Danny enjoyed 43 happy years together. They were not just husband and wife but also best friends. Their love was an inspiration to everyone who knew them, and their partnership served as a shining example of what it means to build a life together.
Above all, Charlotte cherished her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Daniel Allie of Bedford, Texas, her son Patrick Healy and fiancé Craig Cummins of Brooklyn, New York, her daughter Kristin Allie Matthews and husband Randy Matthews of Fort Worth, Texas, her granddaughter Eloise Charlotte Matthews, her brother George Michael Cox and wife Dana Toudouze of Mason, Texas, and numerous cherished nieces and nephews and extended family.
