She was born in Abbeville, Alabama on November 25, 1945, to the late Gordon and Margaret Holmes. She graduated from Abbeville High School and received a Bachelor of Science from The University of Alabama.
She was married to John Dudley Hall June 6, 1968.
Betsy had a career in nursing for The University of Alabama, Texas Woman’s University, and Tarrant County Public Health.
Betsy lived love. She was fiercely loyal to her beloved Dudley, and she loved her children, children-in-law, and grandchildren to a depth that could only be surpassed by the unconditional love of Almighty God himself. If you knew Betsy, you knew what it felt like to be loved. Betsy modeled the posture of Christ as a servant. She wore out more than one prayer journal faithfully asking, knocking, and seeking on behalf of her family, friends, and loved ones. She encouraged everyone she encountered - surreptitiously remembering birthdays, anniversaries, and all kinds of significant dates with a loving note in a sweet card along with a prayer. She faithfully partnered with Dudley in over 50 years of ministry, touching countless lives with her devotion to Jesus and people.
She is survived by her husband, John Dudley Hall; son, John David Hall (Mary Claire); daughter Karis Hall McCollum (Brian); grandsons, Samuel and Benjamin Hall and Fowler and Thaddeus McCollum; brother, Gordon Holmes; and sister, Martha Frickie, along with extended family and countless friends.
