Jay grew up in Lubbock and for over 50 years called the Dallas/Ft. Worth area his home. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1950-1953. During this time he was stationed in Alaska. He married Maxine Cohen Jones on September 15, 1951. Jay and Maxinehad three children, Janet Lynne, Randal Lee and Gary Lane. Jay had many occupations during his life, including police officer, volunteer fire-fighter, and entrepreneur.
He enjoyed drinking Dr. Pepper, playing cards, beating others mercilessly at dominoes, and spending time with his family. He was a soldier for Christ and took every opportunity to spread the love of God and witness to everyone he met. One of the first questions he'd ask was “have you asked Jesus into your heart?” and made sure to bring awareness to the importance of knowing Christ personally. We all know he is up in Heaven now and the card game is getting rowdy.
