I was shocked to hear of Tony’s passing.  I have many fond memories of Tony throughout our years of school together. He was always so kind and a friend to all.  Sending love and continued prayers to his beautiful family.

I am so sorry to hear of Tony’s passing. There are so many fond memories of growing up going to Pope John School together.

My wife Melinda and I just returned to Colorado from Tony's celebration of life service in Grapevine, TX.  It was amazing for us to see how many friends, family, and business associates attended to honor Tony's remarkable life.   On a personal level, Tony and I have been best friends since attending Pope John Elementary in Madison, IN starting in 3rd grade (1968).  Tony had a talent for basketball which I took note of and tried to imitate early on.  Tony's Dad Butch would play basketball games with us at their home in Madison and would always have funny stories to share.  I think Tony inherited his Dad's unique sense of humor, wit and his competitive spirit.  Tony's Mom Barb worked with my Mother Nancy at Kings Daughters Hospital in the new coronary care unit.  I have great memories of spending fun times with Tony's welcoming family as well as Tony spending time with my family, we had a great deal in common.  

Thru the years Tony and I stayed in touch and enjoyed visits with our families in both Colorado and Texas.  Tony was blessed with an amazing wife Yolanda and two adult children, Brandon and Bree.  One of Tony's last messages to me was "Hope to see you guys soon!  Appreciate our lifelong brotherhood".  Tony and I were brothers and I look forward to one day joining him in the presence of our Savior.  May God Bless and strengthen your wonderful family.

My best memory of Tony was riding with him and getting pulled over by the police going up Hanover Hill at 17 years old. Tony was driving and he was pulled over for driving too slow! He talked his way out of the ticket but the damage was done. Tony was the only teenager in the state of Indiana known to be pulled over for driving too slow that year. 

Like all of us, I cannot believe Tony is no longer with us. He has passed way too young. Tony grew up in a wonderful family in an idealic small town in southern Indiana. Tony was an exceptional athlete. Tony was driven, a hard worker and had a sly sense of humor. 

Thanks for all the great memories Tony. I am so glad you, Mickey and I were able to spend some vacation days in Florida together a few years ago and reconnect! You will be greatly missed!

Yolanda , Breanna, Brandon and Family,   Our hearts are broken for the loss of Tony, he  was such a nice person and always so kind.
You all are such a loving family and we know it's a tremendous loss.   We are asking God to wrap his loving arms around everyone to provide you all comfort during this time of sorrow.

What memories, what a man, what a woman, what a family,

I was so blessed to live next-door to my beloved friends for the better part of two decades, when they moved, it was very difficult. However, we remain close and continued to love each other and support each other. My baby girls, Breanna, Valerie, and Amanda grew up together, had adventures, quarrels, and an incomparable bond.  

Our love for each  when my husband died, then another horrific loss, followed by the sudden death of my son. The  first people on the list of loved ones to embrace me were Tony, Yolanda , Bre, and Brandon. 

My heart is absolutely breaking, because I can't see Yolanda without Tony,  or Tony without Yolanda m, or without them as the family unit of inspiration that they are--my precious Stoner family,   my heart is breaking and I want you to know how much I love you and pray for God to give you strength, and  ask the lord for mercy, and  to lean on the lord, in  the days and weeks to come.

I have many memories of Tony but these are a few that stand out.

Getting to know Tony well as the Pope John Catholic boys transferred into Madison's public school our freshmen year of 1973. 

I especially remember spending much time with Mr. & Mrs. Stoner and family (Tina, Angi, Maury & Tony) at their house on Terrace Drive. This often involved sharing wonderful lunches or dinners. 

Tony, Cliff, and I as we ventured to Daytona Beach Fl via Beaufort SC for Spring Break in 1976. We were just juniors in high school! We all put Sun-In on our hair which turned our hair a reddish blond. This coloration was slightly still evident for our senior pictures.

Doing a college visit to Ball State University with Tony, Cliff & Jim Stewart. We had a great day but arrived home 4 hours late.  All parents were worried and upset.

Visiting Tony at Indiana State University our freshmen year during the winter of 1977/1978. I got snowed in for 4 days. This allowed us to do  those college things we dreamed of doing one year earlier.

Tony being in Paula's and my wedding in 1983. It was a special day for us and Tony had a big part.

Being in Tony & Yolanda's 1984 wedding in Texas. It was a great event and I am honored to have been a part.

Paula & I driving  approximately four hours to pick Tony up at Newark NJ airport in 1985 while he was on a business trip. Oh wait - he didn't show up and forgot to inform us.

Paula & I going on a double date with Tony & Yolanda to see the movie Hoosiers at the Ohio Theater in Madison during one of their visits.

Our last time together in 2016 as Tony, Cliff, and I recreated our 1976 Spring Break trip to Florida. This time, we were old enough to purchase alcohol!

Tony, I Love You and will miss you forever but promise to see you again. I cherish all the memories we had. 

To the family. I enjoyed being a part of Tony's life and knowing all of you. You are a great family.

Tony’s Mother and i have been friends for fifty years ; the Stoner family is well known and respected in hometown of Madison, Indiana .  I see my friend’s likeness in Tony’s handsome face and my heart breaks for everyone in that wonderful family .

Tony and I were Fraternity Brothers at Indiana State University. We moved to Dallas together and shared an apartment. Bryan (Dog) Morris moved in with us, and we share those memories.

We are holding your family close in our thoughts and prayers. We wish you courage and peace during this difficult time. Our hearts are truly saddened, please accept our deepest sympathies and know we are here if you need anything. We love you!

I remember Tony from high school in Madison Indiana.
He was one of the nicest classmates.
