George, sadly I never had a chance to know your sweet heart Sondra. But the sharing of your lives made it feel like I or we did.  that lady has a smile that draws you in no matter what, and you feel warm and welcome. George no one can help know how much you love her, it over flows both of your hearts. Our many of our classmates and friends were blessed with PERFECT MATCHES.  you and SONDRA  are one of those. GOD BE WITH YOU AND EASE YOUR HEART FROM PAIN TO ALL LOVING MEMORIES.      YOU WILL NEVER BE ALONE, YOU ARE LOVED BY SO MANY.

I will never forget Sondra's kindness and the short time I was able to get to know her and George.  As soon as I moved into my condo next door in 2018,  she was at my door bearing me with a gift to welcome me, a beautiful orchid.  When she came back from Mexico, she gave me a beaded bracelet because "that's just what she does." She insisted I meet some of her favorite friends here and I'm thankful for that. Her favorite saying to me was "It is what it is."  It was very difficult to see her suffer so progressively, but her husband George was faithfully there always by her side and staying strong throughout her remaining life. I will miss her, but I will remember her always.  Rest in peace, Sondra. My heart breaks for George as he grieves for his great loss and I pray somehow he will feel God's comfort, knowing His arms are wrapped around Sondra and she is no longer suffering. 

Our 1st Thanksgiving at WestPac, we were all on Reserve. Sondra put together a Thanksgiving gathering  and wouldn't you know it...
she's the one that got called out for a trip. No complaints from her. Wanted everyone to continue on and have a good time. She had a big heart & was a real hoot! My life is richer for having known her. She will be missed! Rest in Peace, dear friend! Love you always! xo

I wanted all who were kind enough to visit my dear wife's memorial page to understand who brave she was. In the last 4 years, Sondra faced down breast cancer (2 lumpectomies  + radiation), a TIA that probably led to progressive brain atrophy,  a lung cancer diagnosis that cost her the upper lobe of her left lung followed by 12 weeks of chemo, and a brain hemorrhage. But the stroke she suffered this past July left her with impaired vision, cognitive issues and aphasia. When she found herself back in the hospital earlier this month with severe pneumonia, I believe she just got tired of the struggle. When she told me she wanted to die and began refusing food, I honored her wishes and brought her home in hospice care. She passed peacefully, with those of us who loved her holding her hands. Thank you for honoring her memory.

Here's to memories of our time  in Macau ... "wine tasting" sessions, parties, dinners, great conversations; above all ... your awesome Trivia Nights!
