Shirley was preceded in death by both parents, her brother Ren Armstrong, and son Mark Fenn. She is survived by her husband, Tom Fenn; and her children: son Randy Fenn, and her daughters Renee Fenn and Ginny Fenn; sister Debroah Kay Jennings; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
Shirley was born on January 14, 1940, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Herman Oren and Virginia Armstrong. She married Tom Fenn on August 31, 1962. Shirley and Tom moved from California to Oregon in June 1973, and settled in Williams where they were living at the time of her death.
Shirley was an avid reader and was always studying. After her children were grown Shirley studied and received her GED on June 1999, while also studying the Hebrew language and biblical culture. She continued her studies and received her Foursquare Pastoral License in 1998.
Shirley was very active in Aglow as a bible study teacher, local Grants Pass Aglow president 1995-1998, and South Oregon/ North California area president from 1999 until 2002.
Shirley and Tom started attending the Foursquare church in 1976, and in the 1980’s Shirley taught Sunday school to 4-6 grade students. One of her greatest joys was when her young students would pray for her. Shirley loved to teach and her last five years (2017-2022), she taught women’s bible study at Foursquare. Her greatest joy in life was to see others come to know and serve Jesus.
Shirley had the heart of a true prayer warrior and you would often see her praying for anyone who appeared to be in need. She was the head of the church prayer chain up until the time of her death.
A celebration of life for Shirley will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Rivers of Life Foursquare Church, 450 SW J St,, Grants Pass, OR. Following the celebration of life will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Gotcher Cemetery, Williams, OR.
