Joe was born April 28, 1940, in Mosinee, Wisconsin to Joseph J. and Margaret M. Poch. He served in the US Army 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper. On May 18, 1973, in Chicago, he married the love of his life Judith Duncan. They were together 20 years before she passed away from breast cancer in 1993.
Joe had a variety of occupations during his life, which included construction, driving instructor, long haul truck driver, insurance sales and lastly, as a security officer at Grants Pass High School for 23 years.
Joe was a devoted Christian and loved to study the Bible. He also loved to talk politics and had a vast knowledge of history.
Survivors include nieces Catherine E. Miarnowski, Heather M. Poch, Laura E. Wrosch and Margaret M. Sanders; nephews Joseph M. and Patrick J. Salazar; great-niece Josephine M. Miarnowski; great-nephew Dillon J. Wishnoff; sister-in-law Theresa Poch and brother-in-law Arnold Licu.
Joe’s brother John J. Poch and sister Patricia A. Licu preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of the Valley-L.B. Hall Funeral Home, 2065 Upper River Road, Grants Pass, OR 97526. Interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens, 2500 Upper River Rd, Grants Pass, OR 97526 at 12:00 pm. Condolences may be sent to the family at:
