Tammie and family, I had the good fortune to know and work with Wade for several years; he was someone I called "friend". His ability to frustrate me was equaled by his ability to make me laugh until I cried. I am so sorry that you must deal with this loss. My prayers are with you, and I hope that there is peace in knowing that he was loved by so many of his UPS family.

Tammy, Mr. and Mrs. Gervais, and Karen,
 I am very sorry for your loss. Wade will be surely very missed by all he touched in his life.
 His friendship with me and my brothers while we were all growing up as kids will always hold a special place in my heart. To this day, he is one of the best friends I have had in my life. Along with Scott Madden, we really had some fun times together as kids. It felt like we played almost every day until we entered high school. He helped me have a great childhood with many special memories. 
 For me, I will always remember his laugh, smile, and all the good times we had as kids.
 I am deeply saddened by his passing. I will be sure to pray for you all as you go through this difficult period. Even though we lost touch as adults, I can truly say that I loved him like a brother. When you've known someone since you were 5 years old, the the feelings are so deeply embedded in your soul, you don't forget. I too had the misfortune of burying one of my children seven years ago at the age of 6. I can only offer from my experience is that your family and friends will be there for you and the pain will become tolerable to live with but not go away. Most of all, the Lord will hold you up even when you don't think it is possible, and that His love is infinite.

My deepest condolences to the entire Gervais family. Wade was one of the most fun people I have ever known. We were friends in elementary, middle school, college, and at UPS. He stood up for me as best man in my wedding. I am completely shocked and saddened; he will be greatly missed by all.

It is so hard to lose a member of our family. I just wanted to share what keeps rolling around in my mind from a funeral liturgy:

To Tammie, Seth, Ellie, and the Gervais family- 
 Words cannot begin to describe how much Wade will be be missed in the UPS family, but for all of you, make no mistake he loved you all and you were his Life. I was fortunate to have spoke to Wade a couple of months back and he was excited to be marrying the "Love" of his life and he enjoyed being a second father to Seth and Ellie. He was proud of the kids and enjoyed family time. 
 Wade touched the lives of so many with his "unique" giggle and his smile. Wade knew how to "Live" Life. He was so easy-going.
 He was a great friend and I will miss him dearly..

I first met Wade twenty-three years ago while working as a seasonal unloader at UPS in Oshtemo. He made fun of me on my first day (and pretty much everyday thereafter). He had a motor that didn't stop, a sense of commitment, and a unique ability to break down a problem and find a solution. He was quick with a smile, had a contagious giggle, and was always the smartest guy in the room. He provided both guidance and an ear during my UPS career. I am honored to have called Wade both a mentor and a friend. I am forever going to miss him. Somewhere Wade just made a smart a** comment and is giggling about it.

The past few days since Joe called to share the horribly sad news that we had lost Wade have been filled with memories of him. Most of them of from years ago, when he and Karen were the lights of all our lives, and the center of the family. We all fell in love with those babies the minute they were born, and I like to think spending time with them helped teach me how to be a mom. I lived with Ron and Judy for a while when I was in my early twenties, and spent a lot of time with with all of them. I remember Christmas Eve in their basement playing ping pong, going to the high school with Ron and the kids to play tennis (they got such a kick out of the fact their dad could beat me while smoking a cigarette and barely moving his feet, while I ran all over the court trying to return his rocket shots). When I moved to Lansing and got an apartment with a pool, I had the kids over a few times to spend the weekend (I can still see the look on Ron and Judy's face, hope and concern that 20-something Aunt Geri would be sure to keep them safe, but God bless them, they let me have those kids for great weekends). Karen and Wade would do races in the pool, and while Karen had the more effortless, graceful form, Wade held his own and even beat her a few times. Naturally, as time passed on I had my own family and they grew up and led their lives we didn't see as much of each other as the early years. But Wade showed up when it was an important event, a graduation, a wedding, his cousin's funeral, even though they barely knew each other. Marilyn already shared this, but it is worth repeating "Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him." We love you Wade, and will miss you until the day we get to see you again. Aunt Geri

I was shocked and saddened when I learned of Wade's sudden death. I haven't seen him for many years but he was my right hand man as a PT supervisor back in the days of the Kalamazoo Preload. He was always upbeat, positive and energetic and had a can do attitude. He's brought back many fond memories of those days and my relationship with him. Please accept our condolences. JS

The first time we met, he treated me like a friend and not just a coworker. He was so easy to talk to and if there was a problem I could always count on him. He will be truly missed.

Wade lit up any room he entered with his smile (and giggle). He seemed to always be full of energy and in good spirits; that's how I will always remember him. I had the good fortune to work with Wade in Kalamazoo many years ago - with a great group of people. This is such a shocking and terrible loss.

 I have not been able to stop thinking of you since I learned of Wade's sudden passing. I am deeply saddened for your loss. Growing up, I cannot remember a time when Wade wasn't smiling. He had a wonderful light and I knew he was such a good friend to those around him. I always could relate to the close bond you shared with your brother, Karen, because I felt the same way for my brother. We were all so close in age and we loved and protected each other. I know it's going to be hard to figure out your life without him right there, but try to cherish the wonderful memories you've had. I only had the pleasure of knowing Wade for a couple of years, although it seems like I knew him alot longer. A few months ago, on his last day at the Muskegon UPS center, he made an effort to come over to me to shake my hand and say goodbye as he was leaving to pursue a new opportunity. I wished him luck, and as he walked away I said to him, " You are one of the good guys"....... R.I.P. Wade, you'll be missed.

I had the honor of meeting Wade 18 years ago during the crazy fun days of Bourbon Street. I will never forget the times we shared, his gorgeous smile, and the ONE TIME he joined us on the dance floor. He wasn't always as shy as he appeared. 
 My heart goes out to all of you. I will pray that you have the strength to get through this tragic time. I'm so sorry for the loss of a great Man.

I worked with and was later supervised by Wade. He was a wonderful person to know and I learned alot from him. Wade's personalty was the type that would take your mind off the hard task at hand and just make you happy to be alive. I think thats why we got along so well. I know his last task was probably difficult for Wade to say the least. But knowing Wade I know he made you feel happy just to be around him. And I know where hes at he is doing the same, meeting everyone with a smile and a pat on the back. Good bye Friend..

It was with great sadness to learn of Wades passing yesterday. Although my relationship with Wade was on the professional level, he was always easy to work with & fun to talk to. You learn a little bit about someone when you do their tax returns & from what I have learned, Wade was a stand up, generous man. My condolences to all of his family.
