Victor Karl Reister passed away with his wife, children, family, and very good friends Kevin Carpenter and Scott Ball by his side. Born on November 7, 1960, Vic graduated from Grandville High School in 1978 and from Central Michigan University with a specialist degree in secondary education. Throughout the course of his career, Vic gained a love for teaching others and formed several close and long lasting friendships with colleagues. He retired from MedBio as a quality control engineer. Vic enjoyed musical theater, attending several theater productions, and he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, birding, and loved long drives through the Michigan backroads. His greatest love, however, was saved for his beloved wife of 41 years, Delene Kristine Anderson and the two children they shared Rachel Ranee and Kevin Karl who will miss him every day. Along with his immediate family, he is survived by his two sisters Michelle (Tony) Kalisz and Robyn (Peter) Oakes-Bain and their son Bradley; in-laws Audrey Anderson, Sandy Snell; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nathalie Reister.
Vic had a nickname for and a story about everyone. His family would like to ask that if you have a story/stories about Vic that you please consider emailing them to: [email protected]. These stories will be combined for his wife and kids and given to them at Vic's celebration of life in July. Please include your name and how you knew Vic in the email. Feel free to include any pictures you'd like shared as well.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to either Mary Free Bed or Faith Hospice. Vic was very passionate about everything Mary Free Bed offered to patients with disabilities and he was active in their tennis group, served on their advisory council, and volunteered through their children's program. Faith Hospice was there for him and his family and provided wonderful care and support in their time of need.
