Tony, my friend.

You gave me one of the best years of my life.   Riding in that truck with you constantly running up and down the road.  To Laredo, back to Cleveland, Lima, Detroit.  There was never a dull moment.  I am so privileged to say you are my friend and will always remain that.  

You always had my back.  We worked hard, very hard.  A truck that never turned off for two weeks at a time.  Some of the roughest weather, but we still made it.  We laughed, cried, and wondered what the hell some times.  It only went to prove how well we were together as a team. 

You asked me to play in your wedding.  I hadn't played in so long.  I bought a piano and amplifier just so I could do that and show that I would do anything for you and Tracee.  

Please my friend continue to watch over me.  Continue to laugh at the stupid things I do.  But most of all keep that love of a friend you always had for me from day 1.  Rest my friend, rest.  You've earned a good sleep.  May you wake into the graces of the Lord and may he keep vigilance over your family and loved ones.  I will miss you, but you shall never die as long as you are in my memories.

A pic from the last XPO party I attended. My heart goes out to Tracee and Sean (and the rest of the family) “Tony Joe” was a one of a kind man with a huge heart. Always had a smile to share and his laugh was infectious. Until we meet again, rest in peace my friend.

Deeply sorry to hear this news. I worked with Tony at Express-1 and we became fast friends. My last name is also Gillispie; it’s spelled differently but he said he must be my long lost uncle. From that point on I always called him Uncle Tony and he’d joke back, “my niece” whenever I called him to run a shipment. I love that Uncle Tony popped in from time to time even after he had taken other driving positions. He always made you feel like family and had a big bear hug for you.

I am so sorry to hear of Tony’s passing. We worked together at Express 1 and have stayed in touch for the past few years. My prayers are with the family that God will give you comfort during this time.

My best friend, Melanie Voelker, told me of Tony's passing.  Although I never met him, Mel and family spoke of him often, always with high praise.  He sounds like he was a wonderful human being.  Sending healing prayers for peace and comfort to your family.

Are hearts are breaking  for you Tracee.  Meet Tony couple of years ago at chaple in the pines Campground. What a guy!! Loving, caring,  funny.  Always there to help everyone.  Going to miss him.

Dear Tracee & Family,

My most sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to all of you and your families. Tony worked for me for seven wonderful years, and I was proud to have him as a driver.  He was one of our finest, and he leaves behind at Haggerty some pretty big shoes to fill. I’m also proud to have to known him and called him friend, because guys with a heart like his do not come along very often. He will always be missed.

My son knows him as grandpa Tony and is glad to know he is in heaven keeping his pop pop company but sad knowing they didnt get that fishing trip they talked about.. Tony got to watch Silas play baseball last fall ans it was so special 💕 my heart goes out to Tracee and tonys family.. i felt as though Tony was a father figure to me as well.. always checking in and telling me he loved me. Ill never forget him
