Just learned of Steve's passing.
Grateful to him and Kevin who took me in decades ago when I needed a place to stay.

I too fondly remember Steve from Kentwood High School.  He was always such fun to be around. It was a joy to catch up with him at our last reunion. It’s so sad he will not be with us at the next one.

My sincere sympathy to all of Steve’s family.

To me he was and always will be special.

Steve helped my mother June and also helped us with my brother Todd who had ALS.

He was so caring and so wonderful.

True meaning of the word Friendship.

He always put other’s first before himself.  Not a selfish bone in his body.

Steve was a wonderful high school friend at Kentwood. He was always dependable constructing and decorating class floats. We dated a few times and I fondly remember showing up at Bill Knapp's for a piece of chocolate cake because his sister was a waitress there and she gave us a huge piece we shared. I loved the fun and laughter he brought on the ski trips. Anyone who ran cross country in high school and  taught sixth graders for as long as he did had to be a special person, and he was. I'll miss working with him on class reunions and seeing his beautiful smile. My deepest sympathies are with you all. 

A special friend from high school and college days, I have so many wonderful memories of get-togethers with Steve, Beth and many, many friends wherever we lived – Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, Holland, Grand Rapids. The annual family camping trips to North Muskegon State Park, where we marked the years with photos of the kids (each family had their requisite boy, then girl) entwined in the roots of that big tree in the sand dunes as they grew taller, smarter, and honed their humor and story-telling under Steve and Beth’s tutelage. But my favorite memory is of a 5-year-old red haired, blue-eyed boy catching his very first fish at Mitchell State Park, so excited, he dropped the fishing pole and danced around in a circle. I’ve forgotten what happened to the fish, but will always remember the pure glee of a young boy’s first catch. Steve, your positive impact on all of your kids is your legacy. Rest in peace, my dear friend. 

My memories of Steve are from our early years...all through Kentwood High School, the University of Michigan, and into our adult lives.  Steve was a solid friend.  He was always there when needed, and you knew that he really cared.  My memories are good ones, and I will carry them with me forever.  

                                                                                 

So many wonderful memories of our high school years and many many activities and clubs we were in together. Was looking forward to seeing Steve at our 50th reunion and golfing together. I’ll miss him and his positive outlook. The world lost a good man and wonderful human being. RIP my friend 🙏🏻

We have many fond memories of our families camping together. Dan, Erin, Eric, Katie, Justin, and Karen had fun beaching, climbing trees, sitting by the campfire, and even competing in a sand sculpture championship. Great times with good friends. RIP Steve. ♡♡

My condolences Suzanne on your tremendous loss. Our family will always have fond memories of Steve . He was an amazing teacher who truly loved and cared for his kids that’s a gift not held by many . My God show you peace in the coming days . The Bigelow family

My sincere condolences to Suzanne and his family. Mr. Williams was my son Joey’s 2nd grade teacher who he taught how to count money. To this day Joe will still tell stories of that. 
A teacher may be in a child’s life for a school year but, in their memories forever. God bless you all and give you peace.

My sincere heartfelt sympathies to Suzanne, Jennifer, Isaac, Aiden and Quentin, and all other family members.  Steve loved his precious grand boys.   My family and I are forever grateful  for Steve’s dedicated “always there”  unselfish help for my son Todd as he suffered with ALS.   This will always be at the top of our loving memories of Steve.   He was very special !!!!!!

Steve gave much of his time to our Indian Spring community a chauffeur, lending a helping hand, and a good listener to his neighbors.  We are keeping his family in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time

Steve was a wonderful neighbor and friend.  Many folks in our community were touched by his kindness at one time or another.  He will be missed.  Our condolences to his family
