Klaver, Rudy (Rudolph G), age 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, November 20, 2015, leaving behind the love of his life, Barbara (Velding) Klaver, 5 days after their 69th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his children Cheryle and Marv Curtis, and Lynda and Ed Zomberg; his brother, Jerry and Ann Klaver; his grandchildren, Dawn (Justin) White, Jeff (Sharry) Curtis, Jennie Curtis, Brandon (Heidi) Lietz, Keri (Nick) Eubank; great grandchildren, Jorden Curtis, Sarah Johnson, Ashley Curtis, Mark Sloan, Matt Burbridge, Alysa Curtis, Bryce Curtis, Renee White, Jason Smith, Jr., Sabrina White, Oliver Lietz, Zach White, Liam Lietz, Aaron White, Connor Eubank, Abi Curtis, and Evan Eubank; his sister-in-law, Trudy Klaver. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jennie (Prins) Klaver and his brothers, Bert, Ted, and John Klaver.
Rudy was born in Wyoming, Michigan on 8/6/1925 in the Klaver Centennial Home established by his parents on 3/15/1915, where he and Barbara lived until his death. He retired from Kelvinator, Inc. after 43 years of service. Rudy was proudly a founding member and elder of West 44th St. CRC. He was a WWII Navy veteran.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville. A luncheon will be served in the Cook Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, November 24th from 4 to 8 p.m. (West Building) and one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the Grandville Cemetery.
