Roland Jon Schram, age 82 of Jenison, MI, went to be with his Lord Tuesday October 17, 2023. Roland was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Lydia Schram and brother, Donald Schram. He will be remembered by his wife, Sandra Schram; brother, Richard (Charlotte) Schram; children Jon Weber and Kara Weber; one niece/goddaughter Cheryl (Doug) Britebart; niece, Carolyn (Paul) Toliver; nephew, Rick Schram; two stepdaughters Penny (Don) Thom and Linda (Michael) Young; two grandchildren Evan and Griffen Weber; Teddy, their four-legged friend; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Roland was born October 12, 1941 in Berrien County to Albert and Lydia Schram. He grew up on the family farm on River Road in Sodus. After high school, Roland joined the US Army and served three years in Germany on an Air Force base as an air traffic controller, private courier, and supply truck driver. Roland was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14). He enjoyed sharing his many treasured childhood and overseas stories.
A celebration of Roland’s life will commence 11 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023, with visitation one hour prior, at Rosewood Church, 2795 Rosewood Street, Jenison, MI 49428. Pastor Howard Moths will be officiating. In honor of Roland and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Railside Assisted Living Center, Faith Hospice, or Rosewood Church.
