Robert J. Wiersum

WIERSUM Mr. Robert Wiersum, age 85, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011. Bob served his country proudly with the US Marine Corp during WWII. He was born to George and Susie (Borgman) Wiersum on October 3, 1925. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; his son, Michael Kevin Wiersum; and his brother, Harold Wiersum.

Surviving are his sons, Robert (Debora) Wiersum, and William (Linda) Wiersum; grandchildren, Michael (Christina) Wiersum, Eric (Stephanie) Wiersum, Jaime (Joel) VanSprange, and Traci (Jeremy) Krone; great grandchildren, Riley, Mila, Sarah, Marisa, Alana, Kane, and Madison; brother, William G. Wiersum; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1481 Baldwin, Jenison, with Pastor Scott Sommerfeld officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet Bob's family Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Cook Funeral Home, Jension Chapel, 1889 Baldwin, Jenison and on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of his service at church.
