Richard E. Hallas

HALLAS - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Richard E. Hallas (Dick to his friends) on Friday, September 5, 2014, with his loving family at his side. Richard was 79 years old and born on July 23, 1935. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Emert; his parents, Ernest and Lena Hallas; and brother, George Hallas. He will be missed beyond words by his wife of 58 years, Gail (Clemence) Hallas; children, Richard (Carla) Hallas and Sue (Paul) Rios; very special former son-in-law, Todd Moeller; grandchildren, Trevor Moeller, Jeff (Evelyn- Jeff's special friend) Moeller, Cody Rider, and Taylor (Justin) Pajersky; great granddaughter, Alexis Moeller; brother, Ernest (Sarah) Hallas; special aunt, Esther Becker; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He spent many years bowling and golfing with his son, Rick. He also spent more than 20 years restoring 1955 and 1956 Fords with his brother, Ernie. The funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday at the Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville (East Building) with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Interment will be at Floral View Memorial Park. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville (West Building).
