Philip David Anderson, age 65, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, December 1, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. Phil loved Michigan football, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed growing his knowledge and trivia and never missed an episode of Jeopardy. He loved comics and science fiction of all kinds. His random knowledge and unique personality will be greatly missed.
Phil will be remembered by his sons David Anderson and Eric (Stephanie) Anderson with granddaughter, Charlotte; father, Samuel and stepmother, Gloria Anderson; brother, Bill Anderson; and sister, Dawn McAlary; in-laws Mike Kawka, Paul (Linda) Kawka, Charles (Linda) Kawka, Kathy (Dave) Everitt; and many extended relatives and friends. His wife, Theresa, and his mother, Jewell Anderson, precede Phil in death.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024 at Cook Funeral Home (West Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to the service. In memory of Phil and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or National Multiple Sclerosis Association.
