Peggy Irene De Vries

Peggy Irene De Vries, age 73 of Grandville, passed away on May 5, 2023. She was born January 30, 1950 to Lawrence and Agnes Mitchell (Beimers) in Reed City, Michigan. Peggy graduated from Davenport University and worked for Western Michigan Pediatrics in Grand Rapids and Herman Miller/Milcare in Grandville and Zeeland. She married Robert De Vries on January 22, 1971. Peggy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She remained steadfast in her faith, sharing and growing her love for the Lord in the mountaintops and valleys of life. Peggy was a dedicated friend to many and loving to all.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Robert De Vries; daughters Angela (Jim) Walker, Julie (Todd) Kuiper, Cheryl Dunlap; five grandchildren Mikayla Walker, William Walker, Joshua Kuiper, Abigail Kuiper, Luke Dunlap; sisters Dorothy Birtles and Virginia Wells; and special people who have become family members Kathy Dykgraaf (her kidney donor), Michael Dunlap, Marlene and Ezra McKian; and so many other family and friends who Peggy truly loved.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2023 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. The celebration of life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at First Reformed Church Zeeland, 125 E. Lincoln Ave., Zeeland, MI 49464, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Pat Binish will be officiating. We truly want this to be a celebration of Peggy's life and ask you to make this a joyful time. A private burial will be held at a later time.
