Norma retired from AT&T (Ameritech) after 28 years of service. She loved to travel and planned many great vacations, which included many cruises, trips to casinos and destinations throughout Michigan. Much of her evenings were spent reading or cross-stitching pictures which ended up framed on family member’s and friend’s walls. In the summer Norma loved to take long walks to enjoy her roses, flower gardens, birds and nature all around her. With the companionship of her dog, Bandit, they would walk almost every day to the nearby parks to get their exercise. As they grew older, life became slower. Even though she lived with Myasthenia Gravis most of her life, she never let it slow her down. She also overcame breast cancer and later in life, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Her family and friends need to be truly thanked for the help they gave.
A celebration of life visitation with the family will be held 2 - 4 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Cook Funeral Home (West Building) 4235 Prairie, S.W., Grandville, MI 49418. At Norma’s request, there will be no funeral. A private burial will take place at Washington Park Memorial Gardens.
In honor of Norma and in lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Great Lakes Myasthenia Foundation of Grand Rapids.
