Michel (Mike) Joan Roest, age 78, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, at the University of Michigan Health West (Metro) Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Mike was born July 5, 1945, in Springfield, Ohio. She made a home in Jenison, Michigan with her husband of 57 years, Thomas Roest, and her four children. Mike was a devoted catholic and enjoyed singing in her church choir. She loved ushering for the University of Notre Dame and her passion for the football team has become a family tradition.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Jesse Cleaves; mother, Marie Ann Cleaves; and husband, Thomas William Roest. She will be remembered by her sister, Patricia (Stephen) French; children Anthony (Kathlyn) Roest, Lisa (Bryan) Baar, Brian (Brian) Roest-Peterson, Michael Roest; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private service will take place for Mike, and she will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association in her honor.
