Marilyn Ruth Sweeney (Kragt)

SWEENEY - Marilyn Ruth Sweeney (Kragt), age 78 from Gowen and Jenison, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, March 19, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents Johanna and Cornelius Kragt; siblings John Kragt, Betty Haisma and Donny Kragt.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Roger Sweeney; children Roger Sweeney, Jr., Jim (Jacqueline) Sweeney, and Toby (Maria) Sweeney; seven grandchildren; siblings Carol Hans and Jan Ouendag; and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was a retired school bus driver who adored the children she served. She loved hobbies and crafts and was always willing to give of her time and talents. She also enjoyed gardening and floral design. Marilyn generously volunteered at schools and hospitals, was always positive, and unselfish with her time and love.

A Memorial service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St SW, Grandville, MI with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Nate Walworth will be officiating. In honor of Marilyn, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
