Larry was born May 10, 1961 to the late Anthony and Esther Zondervan in Prinsburg, MN. He was united in marriage with Barbara Vlaminck July 31, 1982, and shortly after they moved to West Michigan. Larry was employed at Borgman Ford and Mazda for 25 years, Celadon Trucking, and most recently US Golf Carts, before he was diagnosed with cancer and retired. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, cheering on the Michigan Wolverines and Minnesota Vikings, as well as collecting cowboy boots and hats.
Larry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara; children Kate (Paul) Wloszek of Fort Wayne, IN and Luke (Elizabeth) Zondervan of Jenison, MI; four grandchildren Elise, Madelyn, Hailey, and Tristan; siblings Lee Zondervan, DuWayne and Lois Zondervan, Julie and Gerry Roeters; brothers- and sisters-in-law Nancy and Brian Bormann, Steve and Jolene Vlaminck, and Paula and Tom Sterzinger; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Louis Vlaminck; mother-in-law, Elaine Vlaminck; sister-in-law, Margaret Zondervan; brother-in-law, Gregory Vlaminck; and niece, Kimberly Bahl.
Celebration of Larry’s life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2024 at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Jenison Pink Out or Corewell Health Hospice.
