I only got to know her at the restaurant; but I thought she was one of the dearest and most loving person I have ever known. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jan sudden death. My heart has been so heavy for all of you - her family and close friends - knowing how much she was loved and will be missed. I met Jan back in 1991 when I introduced her to Creative Memories and scrapbooking. Our times together were filled with fun, laughter, and smiles. I loved working with Jan, her friends, and all their daughters! What a fun group with a very special bond between all of them. My life has been blessed by knowing Jan and her circle of friends. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers during the difficult days ahead. My comfort comes from knowing that she's in heaven and that, in God's eyes, her life was a completed life.  I didn't know Jan, however, I know Kelly and know what a wonderful person she is...and know her mom must have been pretty special to have such a lovely woman for a daughter as Kelly is. I came to the funeral yesterday because I wanted to hear about Jan's life...I left encouraged to be a faithful believer, wife, and mother based on the testimony of Jan's life. Yesterday when my 7th grader came home, I dropped what I was doing to hear about her day!

The Wever family, You purchased your former property on Homerich Avenue from my parents, Jerry & Sadie Wormmeester. We used to live across the street. Jan was a wonderful, sweet and very thoughtful person. I treasure the time I spent with her during several walks with her. Jan is now walking in Heaven with her Lord and Maker.  Returning to the funeral home to express sympathies to all of you was difficult for me after Hannah's passing, but by doing so I truly felt the power, peace and comfort of Our Lord Jesus Christ evident. Wow, as I look back to my years spent with the Wever family, so many things come to mind. Mom Wever was one of the most caring people I have ever met in my life! She always had a smile to greet us and the love for her family was always visible. I recently started coffee break and one of the leaders always prays that we may be the hands and feet of Jesus to someone. Mom Wever was truly an example of that! I can only hope to be half the woman she was! I know she is smiling down on all of you right now! I pray that God may comfort you in this difficult time!

Jack, Kelly, Christina, Blake: My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family. After leaving the funeral home Sunday night, my mind went back to the very first time I met Jan. We met as sophmores in high school. I remember her for her contagious smile and she made me feel like an instant friend. I remember the first date Jack asked her out on - I don't think the halls of Calvin Christian were ever the same after her squeals of delight and I know she never came off cloud 9! I will always remember Jan for her gentleness, her joyful laughter, her compassion for others when they were suffering and in need. I will forever be greatful for the love and compassion she showed my children and I during some very difficult days in our lives and how she continued to remain in touch throughout the years. I am extremely saddened she will no longer be with us on earth; however, I am comforted in knowing she's joined the angelic hosts in heaven who will be watching over us from above. I will miss your wife, and your mother very much. My thoughts and prayers are with you today and in the years to come. She was truly one of a kind and I was truly blessed by knowing her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jack and the entire family. Anyone who met Jan had to love her. She was a beautiful person within and without. She was always upbeat and positive. She was the only person who mentioned a celebration of going to heaven when mother Nellie DeJager passed away. That was how we were feeling at that time and to have her voice that was very meaningful and never forgotten. Her musical gifts were amazing. We could have listened to her playing the piano for hours. We are blessed having known Jan and her memory will be with us always.
