James “Jim” Mark Kenyon, aged 71, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Monday, January 8, 2024, at his residence in Wayland, Michigan. Jim's deepest love was his family, cherishing every moment spent together. He exhibited a servant’s heart, taking humble pride in helping others. To Jim, there were no strangers—everyone he encountered became a friend.
An avid supporter of Chicago sports teams, Jim enthusiastically cheered on the Cubs and Da Bears! His infectious laughter filled rooms, courtesy of his stellar dad jokes and bad puns. Golfing, card games with friends, and exploring new destinations were among his many passions. Jim dedicated over 50 years to the insurance industry, finding pride and fulfillment in his work. His absence leaves a profound void that will be keenly felt.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Mary Beth Kenyon; and their loving children Cesin (Joe) Reder, Jason (Amie) Kenyon, and Jared (Whitney) Kenyon. He leaves behind cherished grandchildren Brianna (Alex) Oeder, A.J. (Mizuho) Reder, Whitney Reder, Brody Reder, Addison Kenyon, Hendricks Kenyon, and Lennon Kenyon; as well as great-grandchildren Emma Reder, Joey Reder, and Halle James Oeder. His memory is further embraced by siblings Jeff (Peg) Kenyon, Keith (Fran) Kenyon, Linda Kenyon; brother-in-law, Mike (Charlene) Schuster; six nephews, one niece, their spouses; and an extensive network of extended family and friends. Jim's parents Charles and Shirley Kenyon; along with his parents-in-law, Ben and Betty Schuster, preceded him in death.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has been carried out, and memorial services are scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2024 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St., Wayland, MI.
