James Robert Baker completed his earthly journey, surrounded by family, on August 25, 2024. He leaves this world to join his beloved wife of 46 years, Jadene (Schulski) Baker, who preceded him in death in 2001. Jim leaves behind his children James (Donna) Baker, Gene (Tammy) Baker, Rebecca (Dave) Robrahn, and Will (Sue) Baker; as well as 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy (Richard) Mancinelli.
His last years were spent in Edison Christian Life Center where he was cared for both professionally and compassionately by their staff, as well as Faith Hospice during his stay. Family is very appreciative of the care he received as he battled dementia.
Dad was a hardworking, quiet man who was loved deeply by his family. We celebrate his life and are comforted in knowing he is with the love of his life and has returned to being whole in mind, body, and spirit. He will be missed and remembered always.
Funeral services will take place 4 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024, with visitation from 2-4 p.m., at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. In lieu of flowers, donations to Edison Christian Life Services or Faith Hospice would be appreciated. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
