Harriet Hoogerwerf

She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Alice Schelling; husband, Don; and brother, John.

She is survived by sisters Wanetta (late Jerald) Czarnecki, Emma (Rich) DeRuiter, Joanne (Larry) Langston, Carol (Terry) Glass, Amanda (late John) Schelling, and Alisa (Tom) Van Zoeren; step-children Steven (Joellen) Hoogerwerf and Karen (Stephen) Cornelius; grandchildren Lisa (Brian) Staple, Colin (Allison) Hoogerwerf, Stephen Cornelius Jr., Ellen (Alex) Morita, and Kevin Cornelius; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday December 13, 2018 at Cook Funeral Home - Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th St., S.W., Byron Center, MI 49315. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday December 14, 2018 at the funeral home, with visitation from 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

In honor of Harriet and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
