Gary Hoekstra

He will be dearly missed by his loving and faithful wife of 43 years, Sharon Hoekstra; his devoted children Brad Hoekstra, Lisa (Jeff) Schaub and Ryan (Carey) Hoekstra; his precious grand-children who called him “Papa,” Jaidyn, Zachary, Rowan, Addison, and Halie. He was preceded in death by his Dad, Jerry Hoekstra. Surviving are his Mom Pat Hoekstra; siblings Carol (Dave) Meengs and Steve (Sue) Hoekstra; in-laws Randy (Karen) Piper; niece Kelli (Bryan) Oosting; nephew Scott Piper; great-nieces Piper and Cora; many cousins and good friends.

Gary loved babysitting his grandchildren, woodworking, golf and his Michigan Wolverines - GO Blue!!! But, his greatest love was Jesus.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Cook Funeral Home (East Building – Cook Memorial Chapel), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan. A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 4375 Ivanrest, S.W., Grandville. Pastor Bill Huyser will be officiating.
