Elizabeth Anne Dix

Elizabeth Anne Dix, age 87, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Dix; parents Nicholas and Irene DeYoung; brothers-in-law Martin Story and Chester Holdson. She will be remembered by her children Susan (Charles Powell, partner) Dix, John (Renee) Dix, and Martha (Michael) Persak; six grandchildren Katherine Persak, Michael Persak, Mary Persak, Megan (Sam) Hoesch, Madeline Dix, and Hannah Dix; sister, Mary Story; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Holdson; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Liz was devoted to her grandchildren, and nothing brought her more joy than attending as many of their widely varying events as possible. She was a lifelong, devoted member of Grandville United Methodist Church, serving the church in countless positions. Perhaps her favorite was singing in the chancel choir. A former teacher, Liz valued education and lifelong learning. She could always be found solving challenging crossword puzzles or reading.

A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will commence 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Grandville United Methodist Church, 3140 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Pastor Ryan Wieland will be officiating. In honor of Elizabeth and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to UMCOR. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery.
