Elaine Wierenga

On Monday, December 19, 2022, Elaine Joyce Wierenga went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 82. She was born March 14, 1940 to Al and Henrietta Fredricks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; sons David, Dean, and Dirk; parents; sister, Caroline Doebler; and many other family members.

She is survived by her son, Douglas and Denise Wierenga; daughters-in-law Brenda Wierenga-Huyser and Pam Wierenga; grandchildren Matt and Amy Wierenga (Ava, Claire, Nora), Travis and Amy Wierenga (Emily, Alison, Jameson), Justin and Janelle Wierenga (Zachary, Nathan, Benjamin), Alyssa and Luke Glashower (Ella, Levi, Crew), Ashley and Mike Bruinsma (Jake, Kenzie, Noah), Danielle and Ryan Hibma (Kendal, Taylor), Lauren Wierenga, Heather and Holly Wierenga; siblings Reet Sterk, Larry and Judy Fredricks, Bill and Sally Doebler, Sandy and Bob Zweemer, and Barb Johnson; in-laws Roger Wierenga, Phyllis and Rog DeVries, Marcia Schutter, Marge Faber; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 1-1:45 a.m. prior to service. In honor of Elaine, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Baldwin St. CRC or CorsoCare Hospice.
