Elaine Lubben, age 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 3, 2023. She was preceded in death by her son, Monty. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Larry Lubben; children Dawn (Mark) VanderWall, Denise (Jim) Boven, and Lonny (Laura) Lubben; grandchildren Monty (Courtney) VanderWall, Clayton (Jesse) VanderWall, Kassey VanderWall, Tyler (Brianna) VanderWall, Avalon Yackish, Alden (Bethanie) Boven, Lainey Boven, Lexi Boven, Morgan Lubben, Allie Lubben, and Drew Lubben; great-grandchildren Brady, Beckham, Brooks, Miles, Quinn, Hadley, Harper, and Haven; siblings Marcia Holstege, Harv and Marilyn Holstege, Clair and Tina Holstege; brothers- and sisters-in-law Bob and Mary Lubben, Ray and Cathy Kania, and Brian and Gloria Lubben; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Elaine was born November 9, 1941 at her parents' farmhouse in Byron Center, Michigan. She grew up working on her parents' celery farm and graduated from South Christian in 1959. Four years later, she married Larry, and over the next ten years had four children together. During this time, she continued to help out on the family farm, but spent most of her time raising her four children. As her kids grew older, she loved watching them play sports and rarely missed an event. As time went on and she had grandkids, she continued to be their most loyal fan. When not attending athletic events, her hobbies included working on puzzles, golf, walking, attending Bible studies, knitting, and cooking. Elaine had a servant heart for the Lord during her lifetime and is now reunited with her son, Monty, along with many other friends and family. Although she will be greatly missed, we rejoice in knowing Elaine is now with her Heavenly Father.
