Donna Waters, age 66, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 1, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Irene Abramovich. She is survived by her husband, Barry Waters; daughters Jillian (Jacob) Pearce and Amy (Kevin) Van Bramer; brothers Nicholas (Irene) Abramovich, Terry (Lynne) Abramovich, Ronald (Janice) Abramovich; sister, Shirley (Matthew) Harper; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Born in Cleveland, OH, Donna was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, where she met her beloved husband, Barry. For over 40 years, Donna was a dental hygienist – practicing in the states of Ohio, Georgia, New Jersey, Florida and Michigan. Always a team player, Donna is remembered as an excellent hygienist, supportive colleague and consummate professional. As much as Donna loved her career, daughters Jillian and Amy brought Donna the most joy in her life.
Donna was the centerpiece of her family – both as a middle child and the matriarch of her own family. She was a loyal and trusted friend to many. Her inclusive and caring attitude made everyone feel welcome and important. Her organization and perseverance got things done. Her dignity and grace prevailed over terminal illness. Her zest for fun and excitement made Donna someone you wanted to be around. Donna was a special person who put others above herself, and in doing so was loved by all who knew her.
We will miss her wonderful smile, big heart and joy for life. Although sad to lose such an amazing person, we take great joy in knowing Donna now has a place in heaven through eternity with our Lord and Savior. Donna’s work on Earth is done, and boy did she do a great job.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Grandville, Michigan on Saturday, July 23 at 10 a.m., with visitation from 9 - 10 a.m. prior to the service. In honor of Donna and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to METAvivor (Metastatic Breast Cancer Research, Support and Awareness; https://www.metavivor.org/take-action/donate/) or Faith Hospice (https://faithhospicecare.org/donate/). The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
