Don was born on July 28, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to Donald A. Fisk Sr. and Jane (Stockton). He graduated from Lansing Sexton High School in 1960. He received an Associates Degree from Lansing Community College while working full time at Oldsmobile. He also attended Western Michigan and Ferris State University. Don worked at Diamond Reo, Michigan National Bank, and retired from Michigan State Credit Union as a loan officer for 20 years. Don was an extremely devoted father and family man. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones at the family cottage on Stony Lake and loved being commissioner of the Fisk Fantasy Football League. Don was known best for his storytelling and was always ready with a great joke. He was also a loyal sports fan to the Detroit Tigers. He was an MSU basketball season ticket holder for 50 years and enjoyed watching NFL football. Don touched many lives and will be missed by his family and many close friends. Don was a born again Christian and a member of Grace Church of Sahuarita, Arizona. He had looked forward to being with Jesus in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly (Call); children Kim (Dan) Malkewitz, Jane McCrackin, Scott Fisk, Lisa (Kyle) Cunningham, David Fisk; grandchildren Alana (Alex) Drees, Tara Driscoll, Taigen, Andrew, Carson, Leah, Ryan, John, Aiden; and one great-grandchild due in November. He will also be missed by his beloved dog, Sparty.
Visitation with friends and relatives will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, with visitation one hour prior, at South Harbor, 1907 64th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to The American Diabetes Association or The American Cancer Society.
