Dennis R. Werkema

Werkema - Dennis R. Werkema, of Wayland, age 62, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 10, 2015. He was born on March 24, 1953 the son of Arnold and Jean (Price) Werkema. He married Vickie L. Wolf on April 28, 1972 at St. John Vianney Church in Wyoming, MI. He had a passion for all those in need and enjoyed his time with his friends from Parkside Park Campground and the many chat rooms he participated in.

He is survived by his parents, father and mother-in-law Gene and Shirley Wolf, his wife Vickie of 42 years of Wayland, MI; his children Chad (Michelle) Werkema of Bull Valley, IL, Tammy (Michael) Heyboer of Jenison, MI, Alisa (Scott) Sinke of Grand Rapids, MI; his grandchildren Jacob, Caitlynn, Hannah, Sophia, Anthony; his siblings Arnold (Debbie) Werkema of Byron Center, MI, Ann (Richard) Morton of Wyoming, MI; and a special brother Charles (Yvonne) Price of Hudsonville, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Dennis' family will receive visitors from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the Cook Funeral Home-Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th St., SW, Byron Center. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, October 15 at the Cook Funeral Home-Byron Center Chapel, with Reverend Gerry Heyboer officiating.
