Grandma and Grandpa, You created a beautiful family. I am so honored and blessed to be a part of it. Grandma, I will cherish every memory with you and Grandpa. I will miss you so much, but I am so happy for you now that you are home where you can be free and running around and laughing : Grandpa, you are an amazing man and I am thinking of you all day long. Dear Grandpa, I am so grateful that I was able to speak with Grandma Wednesday. She was uplifting and encouraging, and I was able to tell her how much I loved her and how much she has influenced my life. I wish I could be there to hold and hug you in this time. I will continue to uphold you in my prayers and know that you are always in my thoughts. I still remember my many visits to see you and Grandma in North Branch. I still can recall going to church to hear you preach and to listen to Grandma play the organ. I also remember all the baking she did for us grandkids and the many hours of games that we played at the kitchen table. I love and miss her but I know that I will see her again in her heavenly body, free from pain. My wife, kids, and I send our love and support. Duane Van Buren

Dear Pastor McIver, I am so thankful for the wonderful memories I have of you and Mrs McIver. You both were excellent examples to me of the Lord's goodness and mercy. She was an example to me of a Proverbs 31 woman. Her wisdom and counsel to me I will always treasure. Yours too of course. You both showed so much love to me and the boys, Jeff, Tim and Baron and I am so thankful. You took the place of my Mom and Dad in so many ways. They were in another state and we didn't get to see them very much but you were Grandparents to the boys and parents to me. I will always love you both so very much and I am sorry you are to be without her for a while on earth but how wonderful it will be when we all meet again in heaven. Seeing our Lord and Saviour face to face and no more sickness or pain. She is waiting for us now. I know it is very hard for you but the Lord is taking care of her for you. Dear Pastor,
 You and Mrs. McIver were wonderful examples to the Shepard family during your ministry at First Baptist in North Branch. We have so many positive memories. You both had such a significant impact on Dad, Mom and we four kids as were growing in our Christian lives. Although it has been over 30 years, I remember your wife, as my Junior High Sunday School teacher, praying for those in her class and our future spouses. Thank you.

My Mom often shared with us how you helped her fulfill God's will in her life and become a missionary in France. When we came back on furlough we always had fun when we came to Michigan. Dear Uncle Keith, It was with feelings of much sadness and wonderful memories when we heard of Aunt Cora's passing. How thankful we are for the wonderful time we shared with you both at the family reunion in Michigan. We remember Aunt Cora's wonderful smile, her great sense of humour, and her unending love for others. We know that she was dear to the hearts of everyone that knew her and especially those who were within her extended family. After 66 years we know that we cannot comprehend the great loss that you must feel, even though you are comforted by the knowledge that she has gone to a better place. I know that you would like to use the words that I did when I was a little boy in your care, and you so often and fondly reminded me off, and say to Aunt Cora, "Thay it again".

Well Mom-the Lord answered your prayers last week and took you home to glory. I will truly miss you as my mother-in-law. I would like to say "Thank You" for having such a wonderful daughter that you allowed to become my wife 43 years ago. Dear Family and Friends, I just want to thank all who came to the visitation, and funeral service. What a tribute to the person she was, and the legacy left behind. It has also been such a blessing to receive these messages to our family- thank all of you so much! Mom was truly a wonderful person to all who knew her; and touched so many lives- thanks mom! Even though I will miss her everyday for the rest of my life, I cannot and would not wish her back; for we all know mom is worshipping her Lord and Savior- completely free from any pain. My prayer is that our family will continue to walk with the Lord- just as mom did- and live our lives with His purpose in mind- seeking to glorify Him through all situations. Dear Uncle Keith, Cousins: Rose Ellyn, Dorothy, Duane, and Carol Jean, and all spouses, children and grandchildren;
