Calvin Sall, age 89 of Jenison, Michigan, entered his Heavenly home Thursday, July 27, 2023. He was preceded in death by Florence, his beloved wife of 66 years; Calvin Sall, his infant grandson; and Theodore Mingerink, his infant great-grandson.
Calvin is survived by his children Bruce and Deb Lubbers, Greg and Cheryl Holwerda, Dwight and Tamara Baker, Bill and Karen Sall; grandchildren Jon and Melissa Lubbers, Joshua and Sara Lubbers, Joseph and Stacey Lubbers, Rick and Carmen Mingerink, Joshua and Carrie Meulenberg, Erik and Devon Baker, Arielle Baker, Maaike and Breea Root-Baker, Delaney Sall, Quinton Sall, Lydia Sall, Hannah Sall; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Marvin Sall; sister, Gladys Sall; and sister-in-law, Wilma Schierbeek.
Calvin worked at Keeler Brass for over 40 years, served many terms on council at First Jenison CRC, maintained an abundant garden, enjoyed camping and watching his children and grandchildren participate in band, orchestra, and sporting events.
Calvin’s life was one of service to his Heavenly Father; he let his light shine by volunteering, sharing batches of his famous potato soup, and leading with kindness. Calvin also loved to make a joyful noise to the Lord by loudly singing many favorite hymns.
Please join the family to celebrate his life 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin Street, Jenison, MI 49428. Visitation will take place beginning at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Faith Hospice (faithhospicecare.org/donate/) or Mississippi Christian Services (mschristianfamily.org).
