Thelma J. Moore, formerly of Raymore, Missouri, passed away November 29, 2010, in Lebanon, Missouri, her home for the past three years. Thelma was born, February 18, 1917, in Raymore, Missouri, the daughter of Ephraim and Ethel Barr. She was united in marriage to James Moore on May 19, 1940. The couple resided in Raymore before moving to Kansas City where they lived for many years. Thelma was devoted to her family and friends and loved to prepare delicious meals for them. She was a bridge enthusiast, an avid sports fan and a constant source of wisdom and encouragement to her family and friends. Thelma was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Raymore. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, Robert. She is survived by her two sons, James Moore and his wife, Debbie of Lebanon; William Moore and his wife, Shelly of Topeka, Kan.; four grandsons, J.D. and his wife, Jessica of Willard, MO, Curtis of Kansas City, MO, Matt and Nick of Wichita, Kan.; a niece, Suzanne Stevenson and her husband, Craig of Ariz, and their daughters. Thelma is also survived by a wide circle of loving and devoted friends. A Celebration of Life for Thelma J. Moore will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, at St. Paul's Methodist Church fellowship hall, 1111 Foxwood Dr., Raymore, MO 64083.
