Robert LeGore Nichols, Sr., 78, of Grandview, MO passed away July 1, 2012 at home. Visitation 6-7 pm, memorial service following at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, July 10 at McGilley & George Funeral Home in Grandview. Inurnment in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville at a later date. Contributions suggested to KC Hospice.
Bob was born July 16, 1933 in Leavenworth, KS to Goodsel and Nelly Brandow Nichols. He married Mary Jo Ligenza on July 23, 1955. They moved to El Paso, TX shortly after where Bob was station in the U.S. Air Force. He made a career as an Air Craft Mechanic. They had their first child, Theresa Rene April 25, 1956 and a son, Robert Jr. September 2, 1959.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo on November 23, 2010 and brothers, Charles and Benjamin.
Survived by daughter Theresa Ross and husband Steve, Land of Lakes, WI; son, Robert Jr. and wife Tracey, granddaughters, Courtney and Christin, Raymore, MO; sister in law Cynthia Henry; nephew Brian Stephens; Bobs two cats Rocky and Flower.
