Pauline Elaine Chapman ascended to heaven to be with the love of her life Howard Chapman on January 26th, 2023, at the age of 81. Pauline was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 14th, 1941, to Edward and Louise Lisk. She and Howard were married on August 17, 1956 and remained so for over 50 years until his passing in 2010.
For Pauline, children were always a central theme in her life. She and Howard had 3 children and from those children came 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. While she was blessed with numerous children and grandchildren of her own, her love was never confined to blood. She opened her heart and her home to a mother and her child (Beth & Brandon Watson) that would grow to adore her as only family could.
She had many ways of showing affection, but one of her favorites was through cooking. This was just as clear at home as it was at work. She would beam with joy as she cooked for “her kids” at Blue Valley, where she was the school’s kitchen manager. Pauline enjoyed traveling and used it as a way to bond with those dear to her. She could also be found in her garden as long as there were no sticks to be picked up. Many will remember Pauline as being about as sweet as they come, but for those who knew her well they knew that her kindness was not to be mistaken for weakness, especially if she were near a yard stick.
While missed dearly Pauline Elaine Chapman will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have spent even a moment basking in the glow that radiated from her. Inevitably tears will fall, but behind each tear there will be a memory or feeling that grows from it that will create a smile on the faces of those whose love for her will never fade.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Howard Chapman, her sister Joyce Louise Chapman-Perdieu & brother Edward Eugene Lisk. She is survived by her children Cathie Chapman (David), Joe Chapman (April) & Andy Chapman (Kim), her grandchildren SSG Anthony Chapman, Lindsay Hoskins, Alyson Smallwood (Joe), Nick Chapman, Andrea Chapman, her great granddaughter Mila Hoskins and her devoted niece and nephew Elaine Clark & Jimmy Chapman.
Funeral Services will begin with a visitation at 11:00am followed by a service at 12:00pm on Friday, February 3rd at McGilley & George Funeral Home in Grandview, MO. The family also invites those that wish to attend the burial proceedings following the service at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
