Mavis Joyce (Kelley) Clark was born on October 9, 1935, in Morehead, Kansas to Frank and Bertice (McColm) Kelley. Mavis went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully at home in Grandview, MO on November 15, 2023. She graduated from McCune High School in 1953 where she met her future husband James H. Clark. After graduation, Mavis attended The University of Kansas and worked in the Chancellor’s office. Upon James’ return from the Navy, James and Mavis were married November 9, 1959. Mavis was a devoted wife and mother to their three children. She was a member of Central Church for over 30 years.
Mavis was preceded in death by her husband James and brothers Dean, Allen and Larry.
Mavis leaves behind many cherished memories for her loving family. Son James L and Beth Clark of Edmund, Ok; Daughters Ann Clark of Enid, OK and Julie (Clark) Caton of Grandview, MO. Along with grandchildren Melanie (Theo) Ramseyer, Kalin Caton, Nick Polo vino, Jamie (John) Fleischer, Devin Caton, and great grandchildren Juliana, Steiner, Eleanor, Everett, Lucy, and Charlie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1 at Central Church 3200 Blue Ridge Extension, Grandview, MO at 2:00 p.m., with her Celebration of Life immediately following at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude’s Hospital
