Mary Patricia Fortin, 75, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away August 6, 2013 at her home. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12 from 7-9pm at McGilley and George Funeral Home 12913 Grandview Rd. Grandview MO. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 13 at 10:30am at Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church 13000 Bennington Ave. Grandview, MO. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in North Kansas City. Donations may be made in her name to Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church. Pat was born October 20, 1937 to John and Helen Wickersham in Topeka, KS. She has been a member of Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church in Grandview since 1966. As a young girl, Pat was an avid horseback rider and enjoyed riding in various county fairs. She met her husband, Duane, at St. Agnes High School in Fairway Kansas, where she graduated as valedictorian in 1955. They married in 1957, celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary this past June. Pat was a dedicated wife and mother, devoting her life to her husband and five children. After her own children were in school, Pat returned to college and received her Secretarial of Science Degree at Longview College in Lee's Summit, MO. She then managed her husband's insurance business, and was greatly responsible for the success they had in being able to travel all over the world by qualifying for numerous company trips. Pat greatly enjoyed boating and water skiing well into her sixties, in which she was the only person on the lake who could ski all day long without getting her hair wet. For the past 15 years, Pat and her husband have enjoyed spending the winters in Florida in their motor home. She is survived by her husband Duane, of the home; sons Michael Lee Fortin, Lee's Summit, MO, and Thomas Edward Fortin (Laura), St. Charles, MO; daughters Barbara Ann Argotsinger (Jamie), Lee's Summit, MO, Sandra Lynn Fortin, Redondo Beach, CA, and Diane Kay Dollar, Overland Park, Kansas; brother John Allan Wickersham (Pat), Ogden, UT, sister Susan Catherine Krausse (Lew), Holt, MO; and 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
