Letha (Lee) A. Ware, age 94, a lifelong resident of Grandview, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on September 3, 2024. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, with a service immediately following, on Saturday September 14, 2024, at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 12913 Grandview Road, Grandview, Mo. Following the service at the funeral home, graveside services will be held at Longview Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12700 Raytown Rd, Kansas City, Missouri.
Letha was born January 19, 1930, in a rural farm home in Pottawatomie County, Iowa to Walter and Martha Handke. She graduated from Dunlap High School in 1948 and attended Iowa State Teachers College. She married John F. Ware, Sr. on August 20th, 1950. She and John established their own electronics components representative company, CenTech, Inc. which they owned from 1969 to 1994. During this time, she also served on various community organization boards, held leadership positions in the Grandview MO School district PTA, and volunteered regularly at the First Baptist Church of Grandview. During retirement, she and John enjoyed fishing trips, cruises, and visiting many other wonderful places in the United States.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John, sister Irene, brother Edward, son-in-law William Paul Robins, and great-grandsons Oliver Baldwin and Zachary Kropp. She is survived by her three children, John Ware (Tammy) of Overland Park, KS, Karolyn Robins of Louisburg, KS, and Kathryn Kropp (Keith) of Belton, MO, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Ernest Handke of Amoret, MO. She also leaves behind many loving and caring friends and extended family members.
