Harriet M. (Young) Oxler passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023. Visitation will begin at 9:30am (Rosary 10:30) followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am on Weds. Dec. 13, 2023 in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO. Interment will immediately follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
Harriet was born in Manchester, MO on September 5, 1926 to Charles H. and Gertrude Young. She moved to Kansas City at 5 years of age and was a lifelong resident. She was preceded in death by her husband Gus of 62 years; sons, Mike and Pat and daughter, Ann Hughes. Also preceded in death by her twin brother, Harry; brother, Chuck, and sister, Charlene. Survivors include sons Tom (Terrie), Jerry (Judy) and daughters, Mary and Donna (Jim), son-in-law Chuck Hughes, daughter-in-law, Mel and brother, Rick Young. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
The Oxlers owned Cy Young Hardware in Grandview, MO for 50 years.
