William J. Yob Sr.

William Yob Sr., age 95, passed away on August 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Effie. Surviving are his children William (Sandra) Yob Jr. and Monica Yob. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers Frank (Annette) Yob and Edward Yob, his sister Rose (Mario) Caruso, brother-in-law Lambertus (Virginia) Reus, sisters-in-law Elsie Yob and Jane Reus, several nieces and nephews. Bill served in the CCC prior to serving his country in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic on the island of Trinidad during WWII. He went on to work at Haviland Products Co. for over 50 years. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am on Thursday August 11, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2275 Diamond Ave. N.E., Grand Rapids, MI. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass starting at 10am. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
