William Wesley Sutton, age 88, of Muskegon, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was born in 1929 in Springfield, MO to Harry and Alice Sutton. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Beverly [Austin]. Bill is survived by his daughters, Robin (Brian) Stoner and Susan (Albert) Frankovich, his grandchildren, Sarah, Amy and Thomas Frankovich, his siblings Donald (Gloria) Sutton, Barbara (David) Nolan and many nieces and nephews. He was a 1947 graduate of Coopersville High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Bill enjoyed a long career as an electronics technician with Sears & Roebuck Co. He was a Second Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol and was a volunteer for Civil Defense where he utilized his expertise as a licensed Ham Radio operator. Bill also enjoyed flying and was a licensed private pilot. He had been a committed volunteer with both Love Inc. and the Muskegon and Oceana Chapters of the American Red Cross. He and Beverly were active, lifelong members of Crestwood United Methodist Church. Bill will be lovingly remembered as a sweet and gentle soul and as a devoted husband, father and friend. His family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the kind and compassionate care bestowed on Bill’s behalf by the staff of Vista Springs Riverside Gardens, Marywood Health Center, and Spectrum Health Hospice & Palliative Care. Private Funeral Services have been scheduled. Bill will be laid to rest next to Beverly in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Muskegon, MI.
