William Harry Reynolds, Jr., age 77, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on June 13, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born in Grand Rapids on February 4, 1945 to William &
Nellie (Borst) Reynolds, Sr.
In February of 1962, Bill proudly enlisted in the US Army. He was sent to Germany and was honorably discharged in 1965. Returning stateside, he started working in telecommunications, a field in which he spent 40 plus years working.
On February 14, 1969, Bill was united in marriage to Kathleen McKay, the love of his life. Together, they raised five children. He was a devoted husband, loving father and caring grandpa and papa. Besides his wife of 53 years, Bill is survived by his children: William G. (Erin) Reynolds, Robert (Tracee) Reynolds,
Michelle (Tom) Barnes, Melissa Ishbia and Brian Reynolds; his 10 grandchildren; his siblings; Dan
Reynolds, Sandra (Larry) Bradford, Tom (Vickie) Reynolds and James (Linda) Reynolds as well as many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his sister Pat Plummer, his parents, and his mother-in-law, Mickie McKay.
Bill was a talented “fixer of things.” He enjoyed being called to help his children with their own DIY projects. Bill enjoyed working on cars and maintaining his beloved John Deere tractor on which he also loved giving his grandchildren rides. The excitement of the bowling alley drew out the sportsman in Bill.
He spent many years on local leagues. Bill also found peace hanging out at the cottage with family and would drop the occasional fishing line in the water. As a longtime member of the Casino Club, he just recently earned his 25 year Gold card membership.
Bill was known for his wonderful sense of humor and kind soul. Always calm, Bill brought a balance to his family that won’t be replaced. His friendly nature and supply of jokes will be missed by all.
Visitation for Bill will be Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel. A rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where the family will receive friends starting at 10:30 a.m.
Burial with military honors will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial donations in memory of Bill may be made to the American Cancer Society.
