William "Bill" Wendal Evans, aged 89, passed away on June 19, 2015. Bill was born July 15, 1925 in Canton, Ohio to the late William and Helen Evans. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Maxine Guy. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his children and step-children Michael (Dana) Evans, Marie (Tim) Dietz, Milissa (Dale) Soderstrom, Mark Evans, Sherri (Michael) Robinson, Sandi Merryman, Jackie (Dennis) Kaminski, his sister-in-law Beverly (Norm) Galaska as well as 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Bill was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather as well as a fun loving jokester. Some of his many hobbies included a fondness for golf, bowling and ballroom dancing. He also enjoyed his involvement with many organizations and groups, such as the Naples, Fl. concert band as a clarinet player, the Masons, the Shriner band and his yacht club. After proudly serving his country during World War II as an Air Force Front Gunner, he began his successful career as a Ceramic Engineer followed by his second career as a mobile home park owner and operator. Bill and Maxine were married at Faith Lutheran Church and remained active members until their retirement to Florida. A Funeral Service in celebration of Bill's life with military honors has been scheduled to take place Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 12 noon at the Reyers North Valley Chapel with Pastor Kevin Sullivan officiating. Family will be greeting friends at the funeral home Monday, June 22 from 5-8 PM as well as one hour prior to the funeral service.
