“If I’d known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself.” Wayne said this at age 50, and lived to be 70. So he tried. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Carl and Florence Bloom when they were considered too old to have children. He was their only child. He married Donna Friar in 2003 and lived on Hess Lake in Newaygo. He will be missed by so many, especially all the folks he fixed things for, like sewing machines and lawn mowers. A memorial service has been scheduled for 1pm on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church (1025 Three Mile Road NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). Visitation will begin one hour prior at 12 noon.
