Virginia “Ginny” May Goldsmith, aged 97, passed away at home on August 16, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years Clayton, her parents, brother and sister-in-law, Casey and Roberta VandenBroek, brother-in-law Burt DeVos, nephew Larry DeVos, brother-in-law Roger Goldsmith and his wife Barbara. Surviving are her daughter, Barb (Bill) Proos, grandson, Tim (Barb) Proos, granddaughter, Julie Aben, great–grandchildren, Ashley Morgan, Cassie Aben, Valerie Aben, Clayton J. Aben, and their father, Mark Aben. Also surviving are brother Wes (Margaret) VandenBroek, sister Eloise DeVos, many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Ginny was a co-owner of Lampens' Bike Shop and worked side-by-side with her husband Clayton. She was an incredible seamstress, golfer, and artist. Ginny and Clayton were longtime members of both Greenridge and Egypt Valley Country Clubs. She was also an active member of Aberdeen Reformed Church teaching both Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for many years. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Aberdeen Reformed Church. Friends and relatives may greet her family for visitation from 6-8pm on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Reyers North Valley Chapel, and at 10am prior to the service at church.
