Tammy was an accomplished ballet dancer. Well into her adult years, she was dancing in recitals and ballets in the area. When she couldn’t dance any longer, she enjoyed helping choreograph shows and working with up-and-coming dancers.
As a single mother, Tammy was busy raising her three sons and working full time. Tammy spent her career working as the payroll clerk for the Grand Rapids Public Schools. She retired in 2003. After retirement, Tammy enjoyed traveling throughout the state visiting various casinos and loved playing Bingo. Breakfast was Tammy’s favorite meal and she enjoyed meeting friends at New Beginnings restaurant many times during the week.
She was also a past member of the Alano Club.
A woman of faith, Tammy raised her family in the Catholic tradition and attended St. Alphonsus Parish. She will be remembered as a dedicated mother, fun-loving Grandma Tam and lady who knew what she wanted. Her spirit will be greatly missed.
Tammy is survived by her children: Shane (Chris) Cole, Lloyd Cole, and Thomas (Amy Hatfield) Cole ; her grandchildren: Caitlin, Trevor (Valerie) and Cooper; her great-grandchildren Thayer and Eliza; her brother Richard (Jean) Beattie, and her nieces Jennifer (Colt) Cramer and Lesa (Dan) Remenap. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday February 27, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel where a Memorial Service will be held on Monday February 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Chung Tran presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tammy’s name to Faith Hospice.
