Suzanna Grace Heidloff, passed away peacefully on her 79th birthday, April 10, 2024, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Suzanna was born in 1945 to Herman and Elizabeth (Edrie) Koers in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Suzanna attended St. Agnes Academy and went on to study teaching at Marion College. She married her love, Teddy Joe Heidloff, on December 26, 1964, whereafter the couple relocated to Grand Rapids a few years later. The couple spent 33 years together until his passing in 1997. Suzanna was very strong in her faith and was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for many years and a member of the choir and funeral meal prep group. She was very giving with her time and was a member and volunteer of many organizations; such as, the Red Hat Society, St. Mary’s Hospital, and the Ronald McDonald House. She worked for over 28 years at the Grand Rapids Public Library retiring as the Head of Circulation. Suzanna had an infectious smile and a warm spirit that allowed her to make friends wherever she went. She loved to socialize and was welcoming to everyone. She accepted everyone as they were and loved everyone the same - as much as she could! She adored her family and friends and spending time with them was her favorite pastime. Her engaging conversations, sense of humor, and loving demeanor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Suzanna was preceded in death by: husband, Teddy Heidloff; parents, Herman and Elizabeth (Edrie) Koers; and brother, Vincent Koers.
Suzanna is survived by: son, Matthew (Lynn) Heidloff; grandchildren, Wade Happel and Grant Happel; sister, Angela Lapadat; brothers, Herman Koers, and Steve Kores; as well as, 16 nieces and nephews, close friends, and her Blessed Sacrament Church family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2275 Diamond Ave NE. Grand Rapids, MI 49505. The family will welcome relatives and friends one hour prior to the start of mass. Interment will take place at Fairplains Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan, and The Reyerson Library Endowment Foundation of Grand Rapids.
