Susan Kaye VanBlaricum

Susan K. VanBlaricum, age 81, passed away on June 20, 2024 surrounded by her family. Sue was born in Coldwater, Michigan on March 2, 1943 to Leland & Iris (Shipway) McEndarffer. She grew up in Grand Rapids and graduated from Creston High School and Michigan State University.

On May 5, 1984, Sue was united in marriage to Keith “Tom” VanBlaricum, recently celebrating their 40th anniversary. She attended and was active at Oakview Community Church for 54 years. Sue’s faith was evident to those who knew her through her heart of love and compassion. She was the hands and feet of Christ to her family and friends and they have been blessed by having her in their lives. After Sue retired she poured herself into her grandchildren whose lives were blessed and enriched through her. Her life is a testimony to all who knew her of how to love well and be selfless.

Besides her husband Tom, Sue is survived by her children: Phil (Christine) Knapp, Brian (Jennifer) Knapp, Randy VanBlaricum, Mindy (Gale) Anderson, Debbie (Pat) Kennedy and Denise (Ray Merfeld) Metzger; her grandchildren: Matthew, Nicholas (Cara), Brianna & Elizabeth Knapp, Sahara, Ayantu & Julie Knapp, Aimee Yeater, Codie Michael, Jennifer Okker, Sarah Campbell, Jordan Okker, Kelsey Kennedy, Tracey (Wesley) Rodriguez, Daniel Anderson, Wyatt (Kayla Benefiel) Anderson; and many great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Sue was preceded in death by her brother Jack (Pat) McEndarffer and her parents.

A private family service will be held.
